Origin of the Company name and its Emblem
In January 1970, the company’s name was changed from Nisso Steel Co., Ltd. to Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. The premise behind the name, Pacific Metals, was that the name itself had a vision, representing the company’s hopes of expanding our relationships of sourcing mineral ores from the tropical islands scattered throughout the Pacific Ocean and the company itself more widely beyond Japan to other parts of the world.
The design of the company emblem, which was established at the same time as the name change, is a combination of the letters “p” and “m,” for Pacific Metals, in a vermilion color.
